Summary of Professional Experience:

Logistics Associate - UNDP Iraq office in Jordan 2003- present:

- In charge of travel and relevant entitlement through ATLAS arrange for air booking, ticket purchasing, hotel reservation, shipment/delivery of international personal effects

- Supervise the Logistics team and unit’s activities

-Replace the Service Center Manager, when absent, and the Operations Associate for more than three years until June 2006 beside my current job to perform operational activities.

- Act as a member in the recruitment panel

- In-touch with the local markets to ensure recognition of suitable services and vendors.

- Proactive in getting/offering information to/from others and seek to share learning with other UN agencies, depending on the various fields of experiences.

- Liaise with other UN agencies on the travel of personnel, fellows, provide guidance on organizing workshops, and perform required travel arrangements on their behalf.

- Organize workshops, ensure hotel booking, tickets and relevant entitlement are ready.

- Act proactively to get the best prices from the hotels and other service providers to ensure that all the workshops requirements are met.

Administrative Consultant for Independent Electoral Commission for Iraq in Amman - Nov and Dec 2005

On voluntary basis and for a period of two months while on leave from UNDP and in order to serve my country and gain more experience to enrich my carrier, I worked for the Independent Electoral Commission for Iraq in Amman as Administrative Consultant. I professionally managed and coordinate the provision of the required services for the establishment of the Independent Electoral Commission for Iraq IECI-OCV in Jordan and assist in establishing a complete functional structure for the Commission covering administrative activities, recruitment and build up the required structure for the commission and for other 14 OCV offices over the world together with IECI team , this activity including Human Resources, Archives, Logistics, organization of training for capacity building to enable the IECI effectively fulfils its goals and other Operational activities related to this short assignment, I professionally succeeded in leading this role inside Jordan and other countries, by providing advices and guidance, through good relationships with the commissioners and through my valuable knowledge and experiences as a UNDP staff member, served in multi-cultural Organization inside and outside Iraq for more than twenty years of services.

I also benefited from the experience gained through regular work with UNEAD team and team leader in finalizing and processing entitlement and logistical advices to electoral team since the beginning of the project.

1993-2003 UNDP Baghdad-Iraq Human Resources Assistant

1- Performed activities related to Human Resources.

2- Acted as a member of the LAPP, CRG secretary to provide guidance to panel’s member on established UNDP policy and procedures, participated in the recruitment process, issuance/renewals of different types of contracts.

3- Operated and updated the HR system FOST, and HR modules, including entry of personnel data, contracts and convey the updated information to HQs.

4- Contacted and prepared the surveys on classification of hardship duty station, post adjustment and Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA).

Administered UN language proficiency exams on behalf of other UN agencies in Iraq.

5- Processed renewals of UN Laissez-passer and ID cards.

6- Acted as a member of recruitment panel for other UN offices, UNHABITAT, UNESCO, ITU, etc.

1980-1992 UNDP Abu Dhabi –UAE

Joined as Administrative/Personnel Assistant at G4 and promoted to G5 and during my career in different fields in Administration, personnel (HR) and procurement.

1- As an Admin Assistant I was in charge of all personnel activities,

2- Controlled the office inventory and participated in the procurement of process as a member of office procurement panel.

3- Acted as a member of the local appointment and promotion panel providing guidance to panels’ members, handled the language proficiency exam on behalf of other UN agencies, and conducted the relevant scurvies, post adjustment and classification of hardship, a member of the local salary survey committee.

4- Controlled the movement of office drivers and daily work of the driving pool.

Plan and prioritize Work Activities:

During my career for the UN I acted as a focal point between UNDP and other UN agencies as a member of UN panels provide the guidance in accordance with the applicable rules and regulation reflecting the leading role of the UNDP among other UN offices.

Over 10 years of experience in administrating independently the language proficiency exam on behalf of other UN offices.

Analytical Ability:

Through good knowledge of Human Resources theories, UN Rules and Regulation, HR, Logistics Guidelines, Finance and procurement Manual, analyze problems carefully and logically leading to fact-based and practical recommendations to ensure wise solutions for certain situations.

Managing for Results:

1- As Logistics Associate supervising the Logistics Unit, I managed to train many colleagues in order to build up a good and strong team, develop efficiency in managing the workload especially in the peak period.

2- Develop a successful tracking system to ensure proper follow up on performed work.

3- Manage successfully to build-up good working relations with outside vendors to ensure smooth running of work.

4- Manage to organize independently the office workshops and the relevant requirements inside Jordan and other countries and act as workshops focal point.
